Insurance for Architects
To satisfy the requirements of the Architects Registration Board (ARB), all qualified Architects must arrange Professional Indemnity Insurance.
More Information About Architects Insurance
We arrange policies for a wide and varied cross section of Architects providing a variety of professional services to clients planning construction projects. Architecture is a word which encompasses many different areas of work. The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) define 12 work stages which are categorised A through to L as follows:
- Work stages A and B – the architect identifies a client’s objectives, requirements and budget, the range of consultants required and the probable procurement method.
- Work Stages C to L – this involves more detailed work, from the outline proposals and general estimates of cost, through to design – draw plans, specifications and contracts, final inspection of building work and practical completion of a project.
There are numerous ways in which an architect may be liable in negligence, especially if you assume responsibility as team leader or project manager. A clear declaration of your risk is of paramount importance as the type and nature of your professional work can be varied. An Underwriter will need to be fully aware of the work undertaken to make a thorough assessment of your risk.
We are very happy to spend time understanding your business; whether you are a long established practice or you are a new start up venture. We will explain what is covered and importantly what is not. Should the worst happen you need to know that you have the right insurance in place.
We have access to most major Insurance Companies, Managing General Agents, the Lloyds of London Insurance market and our own exclusive In House Scheme.
